河北望都人。中共党员。1945年毕业于延安鲁迅艺术文学院戏音系。1940年参加革命工作，历任西北战地服务团团员，张家口华北联大文工团团员，华北大学三部研究室研究员，华大、人大和中央戏剧学院、艺术局、剧协创作室研究员及专业作家，文化部中国歌剧舞剧院编剧，晋察冀文艺研究会常务副秘书长。
